Grant Overview

The Kingdom Advancing Grant is designed to support church programs and initiatives that creatively address community needs while clearly pointing people to Christ. Rather than funding general operations, this grant focuses on new, innovative ideas that can be sustained over time and replicated by other churches.

Over the past four years, 28 church programs have received funding, with 10 grants awarded in 2025 alone, supporting ministries ranging from prison reentry and legal aid to disaster response, job training, and creative outreach.

Grant Amounts:

A total of $150,000 is awarded annually. Individual grant amounts typically range from:

$2,500 to $35,000, depending on the scope, innovation, and financial need of the project.

In addition to funding, most grant recipients are paired with an experienced ministry leader who provides mentorship and strategic guidance throughout the initiative.

Important Dates & Application Timeline

Because of the high volume of applications, the Brotherhood Mutual Foundation follows a clear review timeline:

January 6, 2026 – Application opens at 12:01 a.m. EST
March 31, 2026 – Applications due by 11:59 p.m. PST
July 31, 2026 – Grant recipients confirmed and notified

Early preparation is strongly encouraged. The application is comprehensive and may take several hours to complete.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, initiatives must be directly overseen by a Christian church that meets the following requirements:

Recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization
In good standing with the IRS (any prior revocation must have been reinstated for at least one year)
Based in the continental United States

Eligible projects must also demonstrate all of the following:

Direct church oversight
A clear connection to introducing people to Jesus or strengthening faith
A new and innovative idea not already widely implemented by other churches
Sustainability and the potential for replication by other Christian congregations

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants should be prepared to submit the following (if available):

Church constitution or bylaws
Church purpose statement, statement of faith, or statement of belief

During the review process, applicants may also be asked to provide additional documentation, including financial records or audit information from the prior three years.

Examples of Funded Projects

The Kingdom Advancing Grant supports initiatives that creatively transform communities while clearly advancing the gospel. Funded projects often address real-world challenges through prison reentry and transitional housing programs, legal services that remove barriers and restore hope, disaster response and emergency relief ministries, and job training, skill development, and mentoring initiatives. The grant also invests in creative arts and cultural engagement outreach, adaptive and inclusive community programs, and youth development efforts that intentionally combine faith formation with practical life skills. Each funded initiative is united by a clear sense of purpose, measurable community impact, and a strong, gospel-centered “why” that reflects the church’s calling to serve and transform lives.
